Guru Smaranam >> H H Sri Sri Haridoss Giri Swamigal

His Holiness Sri Haridoss Giri Swamigal, endearingly called as Guruji, untiringly spread the greatness of Guru Bhakthi and NamaSankeerthanam throughout the world through His ecstatic stupendous Bhajans and discourses. His boundless devotion to His Guru Sri Gnananandha Giri Swamigal, the sixth peedathipathi of Jyothir Mutt one of the four Mutts established by Sri Adi Sankara, resulted in establishing a Peetam in the name of His Master to spread the cult of NamaSankeerthanam all over the world being a primary disciple of His Guru. It would be more apt to say that it was the Golden Era of NamaSankeerthanam when devotees used to flock to Guruji’s Bhajans and discourses and remained in exalted state of devotion, rapture and ecstasy for hours together. It would not be a flattery to state that the glory of NamaSankeerthanam was rejuvenated by His Holiness Swami Haridoss Giri Swamigal throughout the globe.

Sri Guruji established GA trust and many Seva Samajams, Mandalis and philanthropic institutions throughout the world. Guruji through this GA Trust carried out various philanthropic activities like construction of Sri Pandurangan Rakumayee Temple similar to Puri Sri Jagannath temple style, Sri Lakshmi Narayanan temple, Nama Sankeerthana Madapam, Old Age home, Annadhana Mandapam, Veda Patasala in Thennangur , the birth place of Goddess Meenakshi, which is about six kms from Vandavasi in Thiruvannamalai District in TamilNadu. Guruji attained JalaSamadhi at Koteeswar near Rudhraprayag in the Himalayas on 4th September 1994. Please visit www.thennangur.com for more details.
